A few weeks ago the first rumors began about the arrival of these two services to Movistar Plus+ from 2025. In fact, just yesterday it was possible to read in the community of the blue operator that it was going to be a reality. And not only this, but they would arrive in just a few days. If so, this is good news for subscribers to this television, especially after the departure of a good number of channels from the AMC Selekt package.
The supply of content in terms of series and movies could grow considerably in just a few days. Thanks to the different agreements that Telefónica has reached, Movistar television could give access to Runtime’s free content and, on the other hand, also to Filmin’s independent film offering. But is anything confirmed? What should be taken into account is that no matter how much these two services are integrated, this second platform that we have mentioned would not be free.
For the end of January on Movistar Plus+?
It was at the end of December when the possible arrival of Runtime and Filmin to Movistar Plus+ was announced. But, just yesterday, the Movistar Community confirmed the integration of these two services with all types of content on this television and also the date: starting January 28, 2025. This was the message that could be read from one of the moderators from its community: «We inform you that Filmin and Runtime will be available on Movistar Plus+ starting January 28, 2025«. However, it is no longer available.
And all because less than 24 hours later, an administrator of the Movistar Community itself has made it clear that nothing has been confirmed through the following post: «Good morning. I inform you that I have edited the agent’s response, since the information in his post was not correct. The only confirmed news is the incorporation of the new BBC channels that will be made tomorrow and the changes in the series and film dials that will be made on the 28th. Greetings and sorry for the error.
What would the integration of Runtime and Filmin be like?
If the arrival of the Runtime offer, a FAST platform (free content in exchange for watching advertising), is true, the truth is that subscribers could enjoy a good number of the titles that are available for free on this service, and all from the Movistar Plus+ interface itself. And in the case of Filmin, it is a streaming platform with all types of independent film titles, European series, etc., which has a price of 9.99 euros per month or 84 euros per year.
It must be taken into account that these two services would arrive as applications within the Movistar Plus+ UHD deco. Therefore, subscribers will have the opportunity to access the content of these two platforms without leaving the Spanish operator’s television service. Basically, if it turns out to be true, customers might forget to install or configure their respective apps on other devices. However, while Runtime content would be completely free, to watch Filmin you would need to have an active subscription, as is the case with the rest of the platforms that can be accessed from the decoder such as Prime Video, FlixOlé, Atresplayer, etc. . In any case, nothing has been confirmed yet, so we only have to wait until the end of January to know if these new integrations will really be fulfilled.
