The success that RTVE Play is having among users who love streaming is resonating so strongly that other similar proposals are not taking long to appear. One of them has just been launched with free viewing throughout Spain and without registration. It includes, among other things, access to twelve live television channels.

The good path that RTVE Play is following is worthy of praise and it was obvious that it was going to inspire other television networks and services to follow in its footsteps. It is not the first rival that appears for RTVE Play, but CyLTV Play is the last of them. It has just been launched in a beta phase that does not require any type of registration and allows you to see what its platform offers.

What channels are included?

CyLTV Play is a platform that was born under the umbrella of Castilla y León Television, so you can imagine that the channels that are available circulate around what the chain offers. On the one hand, we have eight local versions of the La 8 channel for the enjoyment of the citizens of each province or those who are interested in watching a specific one. Thus, the following are included: La 8 Ávila, La 8 Bierzo, La 8 Burgos, La 8 León, La 8 Palencia, La 8 Salamanca, La 8 Segovia, La 8 Soria, La 8 Valladolid and La 8 Zamora.

In addition to these channels, we also have the opportunity to watch the La 7 channel live. And there is still another channel that will be available for us to see at special times and that will be used for sports broadcasts or other live events. Whether there will be more channels in the future or whether, like RTVE Play, they will offer thematic channels dedicated to all kinds of additional content, we will probably find out as CyLTV Play becomes more established.

Available content and devices

Once you enter the platform, you can click on A la carte from the top navigation bar to load the entire list of content that is available to view. The display is still quite simple, since it is arranged alphabetically and allows you to navigate between the different contents in a simplified way. So you can watch, for example, programs such as Agro in action, Castles and lions, Duel de stoves, Clap or With music everywhere, among other available options.

Within this same section of the platform you can access the different sports that have on-demand events that you can watch freely. They are integrated into the same alphabetical list as the programs, so you will only have to click on Basketball or Cycling, for example. This will allow you to enjoy sports instantly and have good free entertainment.

On-demand content on CyLTV Play

Some of the additional sections that the platform has include Suitcase, backpack and map for all travel-related content or Art and settings for culture. In addition, the platform places special emphasis on the large number of documentaries and docuseries that it will share with users, as is the case of productions such as 100 years of football in Castilla y León.

Moving on to devices, CyLTV Play has been launched with the intention that, already in this beta phase, users can enjoy the service in the best possible way. Therefore, although you can access the platform through your computer’s browser, you also have the app available on some of the best-known Smart TVs. If you can’t find the app on your television, CyLTV Play says that they intend to launch it on more models soon, so it will be a matter of time. In addition, the service is also available on iOS and Android mobile devices.
