A little over a month ago, Disney+ recovered its incredible offer of 1.99 euros for three months. A promotion that could also be enjoyed a year ago. However, after this real bargain, it seems that the streaming platform had in mind to increase its prices. And just a few days ago it already rose in other countries like Argentina, which cost up to 45% compared to the old prices.
Premium and standard plans are worth more than ever
It does not affect all users, for the moment. Basically, because the streaming platform raises the cost of the premium and standard plans without ads. Contrary to what has happened with Netflix, since this service has increased the cost of each of its subscriptions.
In any case, this increase will first affect new users. And all because at the time of choosing a plan, the updated prices for your subscriptions already appear. So here are the Disney+ prices:
- Standard with ads: 5.99 euros (remains at the same price)
- Standard without ads: for 9.99 euros per month or 99.90 euros per year (previously 8.99 euros per month or 89.90 euros per year)
- Premium: for 13.99 euros per month or 139.90 euros per year (before 11.99 euros per month or 119.90 euros per year)
Taking this latest update into account, you can see how the standard plan without ads goes up 1 euro per month and 10 euros per year, while the premium goes up to 2 euros or 20 euros per year.
I’m already subscribed, when will I pay more?
Surely when checking your Disney+ account you will have noticed that this new increase on the platform does not apply to the next charge. More than anything, because it will not be applied at the moment. If you are going to subscribe now, you will pay more. Instead, the platform will apply this increase starting November 21. So current subscribers will notice the increase from next month.
The following is explained on the Disney+ help website regarding this update to its plans: “We remind you that the prices indicated correspond to new subscriptions starting October 17, 2024. If you have subscribed to Disney+ Standard or Disney+ Premium Before that date, you will see a price change in your billing cycle starting November 21, 2024.” So, once this date has passed, all subscribers will pay the same for the platform plans.
On the other hand, the price of extra access to Disney+ remains as follows:
- Disney+ Standard with ads for 4.99 euros per month.
- Disney+ Standard for 5.99 euros per month.
- Disney+ Premium for 5.99 euros per month.
