There are many applications that over the years Microsoft has provided us by default on Windows. Paint 3D has been one of them, but in the end it has not had the success initially expected.

We are talking about programs that try to make things easier for us in clean installations of the operating system. However, for many they are nothing more than bloatware that takes up unnecessary space on our drives. From Microsoft’s point of view, these integrated solutions help us start working from scratch once we launch the Windows system.

Well, we tell you all this because in these lines we are going to talk to you about one of those applications that was destined to become essential, but has turned out to be the opposite. Specifically, we are referring to Paint 3D, that application for editing three-dimensional objects that was designed to replace the legendary classic Paint.

And the software giant has currently decided to, from now on, eliminate the aforementioned Paint 3D. This is something that is carried out through the official Windows Store, from where it has disappeared. This means that it is no longer possible to find, download or even update the design app from here. It is worth mentioning that this is extensible in both Windows 11 and Windows 10.

Of course, those of you who still use this software solution are in luck, at least for the moment. Microsoft has confirmed that the app as such will not stop working, so those who have it installed will be able to continue using it.

Paint 3D, another failure from Microsoft

Paint 3D was originally supposed to replace the legendary Microsoft Paint. It happened in 2017, when the program was officially launched. And at Microsoft they believed that 3D creativity was the future, along with Windows Mixed Reality. Hence the incorporation of a multitude of three-dimensional brushes, 3D shapes and effects. At the same time, the program included an extensive library that we could use for free.

However, despite all its benefits, this solution never replaced Paint. In fact, its use has been quite limited by Windows users. What’s more, some of them did not welcome the disappearance of the classic application, so the software giant had to back down in this regard.

Despite everything, acceptance of the three-dimensional version of the design program did not improve. Later, the company announced that it was ending support and announced that it would be removed in a future version. And it seems that moment has finally arrived. As of a few hours ago, Paint 3D is no longer available in many regions around the world. When searching in the official Windows store, we will not be able to find it.

Those who have it installed on their computer will be able to continue using it, although they should keep in mind that they will no longer receive any more updates or improvements to Windows.
