There are many and varied reasons given by many users for not leaving Windows 10 behind. One of the reasons for not wanting to change has to do with the design of the new distribution developed by Microsoft. Making the jump to Windows 11 and keeping the design of Windows 10 is now possible thanks to the RevertSV application.

The latest data available from Statcounter indicates that only 30% of users are using Windows 11. We are talking about a very poor adoption of this new Microsoft operating system that has not convinced absolutely anyone.

We must remember that on October 14, 2025, the Windows 10 operating system will no longer receive support from Microsoft. This means that it will no longer receive updates that correct vulnerabilities and bugs. Remember that this operating system no longer receives new features, improvements and optimizations.

Install Windows 11 but with the Windows 10 design

Microsoft, among other reasons, has cited the improved security of its new distribution. This is precisely one of the most controversial points, as it requires the use of the TPM 2.0 module, leaving many systems out. In addition, it was developed in collaboration with Intel to optimize it for the new processors that combine powerful and efficient cores.

Although many people are using the new version of Microsoft’s operating system, many people say that they like the design of Windows 10 better. Now, thanks to this new tool, you can recover the old design of the operating system.

The ResetSV app is unofficial and allows you to modify the appearance of Windows 11 to make it look like Windows 10. You should keep in mind that this only affects the user interface, which is the outermost layer of the operating system.

The creator of this tool is YouTuber LagLife. In the video he shows how you can modify the design with just one click. According to the developer of this program:

I decided to do this because there were several attempts to “roll back” but no one managed to do it completely. When I’m done, I’ll post a script to roll back an existing installation to the Windows 10 UI with a single click.

It appears that this program is using Valinet’s uDWM DLL and DWMAPI DLL files. Desktop Windows Manager (DWM) works in a similar way to WDDM, which was developed by Microsoft back in the days of the Vista operating system. Obviously, the user interface has changed a lot since then.

If you are interested in trying RevertSV, you can download this software easily from the Internet Archive website. We recommend testing on a virtual machine to avoid any problems. Occasionally, these types of applications can cause compatibility issues and damage the operating system or cause file loss.

Please note that all of these programs tend to cause system instability and errors. We could have multiple incompatibilities, including those associated with updates.

In the end, you will probably end up adapting to the design change, as happened to many of us between Windows XP and Windows 7. This is normal for the company, changing the graphical interface claiming improvements in capacity and features that never quite convince.
