The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transition launched a new aid of 20 euros per month for vulnerable families with economic problems to be able to access an internet rate with a minimum speed of 30 Mb per second. In this way, the Autonomous Communities made available to citizens the maximum dates to obtain this benefit, so there is less than a month left to obtain it in certain autonomies.
With the primary objective of combating the digital divide in Spain, up to ten Autonomous Communities launched last summer a social donation bonus for people who were in a bad economic situation and could not pay for minimum services, such as internet. The digital vouchers total 240 euros and this subsidy is provided by the Next Generation funds of the European Union.
Latest Communities where to request the digital bonus
The digital bonus is an aid of 20 euros per month for 12 months that allows users to have a discount on their internet connection when contracting services with one of the operators that is contributing to this good cause. Therefore, the applicant will not be able to choose the operator, but will be subject to those who are collaborating with the Government of Spain.
For example, in the case of Madrid, the operators that have joined have been Lowi and O2. As for Aragon, the operator Embou, a member of the MásMóvil Group, is the one that offers the greatest broadband coverage in the three Aragonese communities.
Each of the cities that grant this benefit stipulated a deadline to request the digital voucher, in such a way that some of them already warn that there are only a few days left to fill out the application. To do this, you must go to each of the websites of these cities and complete all the necessary information. These cities are:
- Andalusiauntil December 15.
- Aragonuntil December 15.
- Basque CountryUntil december 31.
How to request the digital voucher
A series of conditions and requirements must be met to be able to request the digital voucher. Although each Autonomous Community requires the presentation of some documents or others, the most important and general qualities are the following:
- Be registered in the Autonomous Community where the digital voucher is requested.
- Aimed at people with low incomes.
- Those users who are holders of the Minimum Vital Income, Minimum Insertion Income or contributory pension.
- Be a client of one of the operators that transfer their internet services and contribute to the Government of Spain.
After having launched the request, the regional Executive will be the one to confirm or deny whether the assigned operators provide their services to the citizens involved. On the other hand, it should be noted that this discount is not applicable or compatible with any other rate in the catalog of these teleoperators.
