MasOrange, the merger between MásMóvil and Orange, has brought many joys to the customers of both operators in Spain. The latest to be announced will mean that sunbathing on most Spanish beaches is not at odds with enjoying 5G connectivity.

Summer is here and, with it, high temperatures have established themselves in most of the autonomous communities. With this heat, the only thing you want is to take a dip and many people take advantage of their holidays to get away to the beach. From MasOrange they want that disconnecting from routine does not mean giving up the best mobile connection currently on the market. For this reason, they have guaranteed that 9 out of 10 Spanish beaches already enjoy the MasOrange 5G network.

With the company’s 5G, they hope that their customers “will be able to share their most special moments of the summer despite the mobile data peaks that are expected to occur in summer areas.” This not only includes the majority of Spanish beaches, but they have also committed to deploying in towns, so that popular festivals have the fifth generation of mobile coverage.

MasOrange’s 5G network in more and more places

The union between MásMóvil and Orange has become the new telecommunications leader in Spain by number of clients. This situation almost forces them to improve their services to ensure that everyone is happy and on the right track with the rollout of 5G.

This mobile connectivity is already present in more than 2,700 municipalities, according to the company’s own statement. This represents a national coverage of the population of almost 85%, being almost 100% in 4G.

It seems that in the summer they do not plan to take vacations and will work hard so that 5G reaches even more locations in Spain. To demonstrate their commitment, they have inaugurated the summer season with the implementation of their best network in almost 100% of the municipalities with between 10,000 and 25,000 inhabitants, and ensures that it exceeds 80% of the towns with between 5,000 and 10,000 residents.

In addition, 90% of the beaches within our borders already boast MasOrange 5G coverage. In this way, the firm makes sure that its clients can stay up to date with everything on their vacation by the sea with the best connection. Only 1 in 9 beaches will not have this advantage, so you will most likely have no problems on your getaway from the summer routine.

Between June and September, MasOrange will continue its efforts to reach more places within the Spanish geography. The company has committed to using its fleet of mobile stations to reinforce coverage at events, festivals, concerts and popular festivals that multiply at this time of year.

Movistar continues to lead the 5G deployment

It should be noted that, despite the fact that MasOrange has very good numbers, at the moment Telefónica continues to be the leader in the deployment of 5G in Spain. Although the merger between MásMóvil and Orange has caused said operator to gain more customers than Movistar and O2, it still does not match the benefits of the oldest telecommunications company in our country.

5G coverage on Movistar and O2 is now available in 3,008 municipalities, reaching more than 89% of the Spanish population. In addition, they have a Rural 5G plan so that towns with less than 10,000 inhabitants are not relegated to the background.

In short, in the case of Telefónica, they are betting a lot on 5G+, a much better connectivity than 5G, with a 3,500 MHz band. As we reported yesterday in an ADSLZone article, the coverage of this mobile technology had reached 1,016 municipalities of Spain.
