A few days ago we reported on the update of DTT channels in HD that should have joined the Movistar Plus+ grid, as stipulated, but the truth is that several High Definition broadcasts were yet to arrive at your service. This situation caused its customers to complain when they continued watching channels in SD quality, which should have disappeared automatically. Now, Movistar has already announced its intention to add 8 HD channels.

February 14, 2024 was the day of the nationwide DTT blackout, so all frequencies from the SD standard format must be moved to the new HD resolution. However, teleoperators that offer a television offer in their portfolio are being the furthest behind in completing the process of including all High Definition DTT content in their catalogue.

This has raised blisters among consumers as they did not receive official communication. However, Movistar Plus+, which has been one of the most punished, has already gotten to work to try to transfer all DTT channels in HD to its television schedule as soon as possible. Right now, the company is testing to add 6 more channels.

Movistar Plus+ and its dubious broadcast in HD

Although Movistar Plus+ users see DTT channels on their respective decoders without any problem, the truth is that the telephone company has not yet taken charge of carrying out the National Technical Plan for Digital Terrestrial Television, approved by the Government last year, to regulate all broadcasts of official DTT channels to the new standard HD resolution.

In this way, if you are a Movistar customer and have contracted fiber and television service, you will only be able to see a rescaling in some channels that highlight the HD logo, whose quality leaves a lot to be desired. This means that the operator is still testing sending all broadcasts to HD format, so it would be using a gradual system to make it possible.

As reported in the Movistar Community, the most advisable thing is to watch all the DTT channels through the Smart TV’s own antenna, turning off the Movistar Plus+ decoder, so new HD channels will be added to incorporate them. natively on their respective dials. However, there is talk that this may take months to complete.
