For years, Apple and the rest of the telephone manufacturers have opted for the wireless charging based on the Qi standard as one of the innovations on which to support the development of its terminals. In the year 2020, Apple pivoted one of the technologies that it had been using years ago in its computers, landing it on the iPhone: MagSafe. An induction charging system that by means of a magnet system it allows the energy flows to be optimal for the battery, avoiding possible degradations. Now, the android users you are in luck thanks to Anker. The Asian manufacturer has taken advantage of the IFA celebration to present its new Qi2-based external batteries today.

When mobile phones are not yet developed to accommodate the Qi2 Wireless Charging, Anker, as one of the leading manufacturers In terms of accessories, it has decided to surprise the industry by presenting a new range of accessories within its MacGo category. The new products include two power banks, 10,000 and 6,000 mAh, and different charging stations. All of them making full use of this new technology, giving greater energy efficiency to any terminal, regardless of its operating system.

This new range of external batteries is a revolution for different reasons. The first of them, because it has enough power to be able to charge at 15W, for which 7.5W from original Apple Magsafe battery. In this way, it could satisfy one of the great complaints of the users of the Cupertino company: the slow charge offered by its original external battery.

But, in addition to this, this release is also good news for Android users. From the moment that the main manufacturers of the Google operating system begin to equip their terminals with this new charging standard, they will also be able to use this technology to feed their products.

Apple, key in the development of the Qi2 standard

Apple already gave the first signs that new manufacturers were going to be able to start working with MagSafe in the last edition of CES. He Wireless Power Consortium took advantage of the event to announce that it had been working with the company of the bitten apple on the Qi2 standard on which the new generation of MagSafe will be based.

The objective of this new model was to improve the efficiency of the current Qi system. And, for this, the power system used by MagSafe accessories was one of the keys. In this announcement, it was already stated that manufacturers were expected to include Qi2 during the last months of 2023 in the terminals of their highest ranges.

Anker seems to have anticipated them, announcing an accessory that, if market predictions are followed, will be able to use the latest presentations that are expected in the coming months, with a special role for both the Pixel 8 and the Pixel 8 Pro, as well as the various terminals that will complete the new generation of the iPhone 15.
