Instagram QR Codes
Instagram has quick ways to tell someone what your Instagram account is. You can, of course, spell your username, but that may result in errors. It is much easier to show the QR code of your account. The other person then only has to scan the block code to start following your account. Previously, Instagram also had a name tag, which worked much the same way but didn’t show a QR code. The QR code is much easier! It is mainly intended if you meet someone at a party, on the street or in any other place and want to exchange Instagram accounts between them.

Instagram QR code
With the Instagram app you can create a QR code, which you can print out and hang on the wall in a restaurant or company, for example. Others can then scan the QR code with their camera to easily track your account.
Here’s how to create a QR code:
- In the Instagram app, tap your profile icon in the bottom right corner.
- Tap the three horizontal lines at the top right.
- Tap QR code.
You can save the QR code, print it or share it in another way. For example, customers of a restaurant or shop can easily see the opening hours, follow the account or buy something. You simply scan the QR code with the camera of your smartphone, after which you will be directed to the relevant Instagram account. So people don’t have to open the Instagram app first.
Customize QR code
By default, a kind of emoji wallpaper is shown in the background. Would you prefer a different emoji, or no wallpaper at all? You can do this by tapping the Emoji button at the top of the screen several times. You will then be presented with several options.
Scan Instagram QR code
Want to scan someone else’s Instagram QR? This can be done in the same way as described above.
- In the Instagram app, tap your profile icon in the bottom right corner.
- Tap the three horizontal lines at the top right.
- Tap QR code.
- At the bottom of the screen you will see the option Scan QR code. Tap it.
You will now see the person’s Instagram name tag and view their profile. You can also start following this person immediately.
This feature is especially interesting for people you meet in real life. You could also put your QR code on the internet to ensure that your account gets new followers.
