For the summer holidays or a weekend away

Back from holiday and busy sorting out the holiday photos? To avoid having to send your friends a mountain of photos, there are special apps. This means you and the sights always look good – with temperature, as a collage or other extras, so that your photos become just that little bit more interesting.

Vacation photo apps for iPhone

Your holiday photos are of course the nicest and most fascinating, but your friends are not always interested in a mountain of photos of places they have not been themselves. So you’ll have to do something to spice up your photos and make them more interesting. Which can! Merge multiple photos into a collage, add extra information such as temperature and place name, or use a filter to make it all look more dramatic. Also useful: apps that allow you to make the sky a little bluer.

  • Instaweather
  • Phonto
  • Pixlr
  • Instagram Layout
  • Prism
  • More apps

InstaWeather

While we used to draw suns on postcards, we now post a photo with the weather forecast on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. This is possible with the InstaWeather app.

The app offers a premium option that gives you access to more filters and options. You will also not be bothered by the watermark at the top right of the photo. The app is also useful for providing your location and the weather situation at your holiday address. This way you can tell those at home how warm it is.

Phonto

With Phonto you can edit your photos and add text to the photo in any font you want. This way you can let all your friends at home enjoy the best holiday photos. This way you can, for example, add the weather of your holiday destination. You can also add a filter to make the sky bluer. Fake it until you make it!

Once you’ve chosen a filter, you can start working on the text on the photo. You can add text by tapping the photo twice. You can choose the font from a large collection. You can also use two different fonts by adding two different pieces of text. You can unleash your creativity to make your holiday photos look fun.

Pixlr

Pixlr is a full-featured photo editing app that offers many features. You can add beautiful filters, adjust all kinds of settings, but also add text to the photos and even create collages. You can add the text in all kinds of fonts. There are several fonts in the app, but you can add additional fonts if you want more variety. You can also combine your photos into a beautiful collage. With Pixlr you can turn your holiday photos into true works of art. When you are satisfied with the photo, you can share it directly via social media or a message in WhatsApp or iMessage.

InShot

Instagram also has its own app for making collages (Instagram Layout), but it has not been updated for some time. We have had better experiences with a specialized photo collage app, such as InShot. This also allows you to crop videos and make other edits, but the collage function is most interesting for holiday photos. To avoid having to send twenty photos, where people drop out after just five photos, it is better to combine them into a compilation.

You tap which photos from your camera roll you want to combine and then browse through the different layouts. More or fewer photos, it’s all possible. You can also shift, mirror or rotate them. You can add edges and choose straight or rounded corners. Multiple choice? Then check out our list of the best photo collage apps.

Prism

If you want to send more original holiday photos, you can take a look at the Prisma app. The app does not apply standard filters to your photo, but turns your photos into real art. Your photo is sent to Prisma’s servers for an impressive filter. You do need an internet connection for this.

You can choose from all kinds of effects, from mosaic and pencil drawings to comics and paintings. Would you like to see some examples before you get started with Prisma? We have listed 25 cool Prisma photos that you can take with the app.
