Microsoft continues to pave the way for those who have not yet migrated to Windows 11. On this occasion, the roller has passed on the lock screen. Microsoft has recently announced the launch of the Build 22635.4870, and one of the substantial changes we find is to add widgets and organize them inside our blocking screen.

This is an addition of comfort to access information such as news, the time of our city or music applications such as Spotify. As you can see, not only Windows native applications can be configured, but also third parties. In this way, the latest version of the Microsoft operating system raises its commitment to simplicity to a new level.

New blocking screen operation

This implementation will come first for Windows Insider users within the European economic space, and then expand to more versions. At the moment, we cannot find it in our final version of Windows 11, so in the meantime it only remains to wait.

Traditional widget bar

While widgets on the blocking screen of our Windows 11 are not new, in this specific section they were not customizable. For those who are part of the beta channel, and especially for the future for Windows 11 users, we can configure this functionality in simple steps.

The first thing we have to do is access the Windows 11 “configuration” section (Win+I). Once inside, we must go to the “customization” column and select the “lock screen” option. Currently, it looks like this for users on the Beta channel.

Beta Channel Block

Here you will find the new “Your Widgets” option. As you can see in the image, we can activate it by one click and then add our widgets. For this we rely on our own installed applications. And as we have said before, this also includes third -party application widgets. This means that we can add a spotify widget to our lock screen, if we want it, or the application of Xbox video games.

To get an idea of which you can add, Microsoft has advanced that they will be the same as we can find in Microsoft Store. We just have to look for widgets from the official Windows store to get an idea of the potential for this improvement of the locking tool.

In addition, once on the lock screen, each widget has its own options through a three -point icon (…). From there we can administer them as we want. Apart from allowing this new addition, the Microsoft SO also offers us the possibility of reorder the widgets so that we establish their position from left to right in that bar. If you are interested in reading sports news (such as a widget from the newspaper Marca), quickly change song at Spotify or see the time of your city, you can do everything in a look.

This functionality will be established in the coming months for all Windows users. This is a new plus for the latest version of the Microsoft operating system in terms of agility and customization.
