Users who are still using Windows 10 have good news: the availability of a new update for Microsoft’s operating system. With it, a series of changes and solutions to problems are introduced that will make the day-to-day experience more satisfactory.

Windows 10 update KB5044273 is now available and, if you use this version of the platform, you have most likely already received it. Microsoft has made it mandatory for all users who have the Windows 10 21H2 and Windows 10 22H2 versions. Its entry on the scene is very good news for users of the classic version of Windows that is still alive, waiting to become obsolete in the near future.

It is mandatory

Not all Windows updates are mandatory, but when Microsoft releases a new version with security changes, it is applied to all computers automatically. This is what happens with this specific version, which incorporates several additional new features to continue polishing the system’s performance.

Check for updates button in Windows

If for some reason you have one of these versions of Windows and you have not received the update, accessing it will be as simple as entering Settings and clicking on Windows Update. Then, click on the Check for updates button that you can see precisely in the image that we show you above these lines. The system will inform you if a new version is available or not. When you are already updated, the build that your computer will be left with will be 19044.5011 in the case of Windows 10 21H2 or 19045.5011 if you have Windows 10 22H2.

What news does it bring?

To begin, we can tell you that the bad news is that Microsoft has not managed to solve all the problems that Windows 10 users were suffering. Yes, it has solved most of them, but there are still some that continue to be suffered. This is the case of the problem due to which the error message 0x80070520 appears on the screen, mainly with processes related to changing the profile photo.

Among what has been solved are the Microsoft Edge problems with Internet Explorer mode, multimedia playback errors with certain surround sound technologies or the interruptions that Windows Server had with File Explorer and the Task Bar. What we don’t continue to experience are problems with directory names or folder errors with Microsoft Defender. These are fixes that had already been recently seen in Windows 11 and it is positive to see that they also appear in Windows 10.

Plus, there are some new features. One of them is a system through which we will see Windows Update notifications the moment we log in to the computer. Changes have also been made to the Start menu. For example, the profile photo moves between different positions and a new option has been added to customize the background of the left panel. This change is very interesting, since it helps the menu commands to be seen more clearly, which is useful while you are using the device.

Other adjustments have also been made that you can consult in the source that we leave you at the end of the news to explore the information that Microsoft has published on its website. As we said before, although the updates for Windows 10 arrive a little later than those for Windows 11, where Microsoft puts all the priority, they continue to help users enjoy a good experience. As usual, Microsoft emphasizes that it is important to activate automatic updates even though, in recent cases, there have been problems with some of the latest versions.
