There are several sections that are part of Windows that we could consider extremely important in day-to-day life with the operating system. For example, it is worth highlighting the widespread use of the taskbar and the system tray that most of you already know very well.
To these significant elements we can add the Control Panel, the Device Manager, or the File Explorer. They are components that are part of Windows that are still with us for many years. However, Microsoft increasingly offers us more customization options to adapt its operation, or at least that of some, to our needs.
In these same lines we are going to focus on what is called the system tray. This is the section located to the right of the taskbar and where we find commonly used icons such as volume or Windows connectivity. However, on occasions we have seen that in the latest version of Microsoft’s own system, several of these icons that we need daily suddenly disappear.
With this what we want to tell you is that for example we are going to use the battery icon if we work with a laptop, with the sound volume, and they do not appear. It is true that we can use other functions of the system, but we already have to move through the Settings application or the Control Panel. These icons that we mentioned in the system tray allow us to save a good amount of time on a day-to-day basis with the PC.
That is why below we are going to show you a trick to see all the icons that we really need in the system tray.
Customize the Windows 11 system tray
Basically with this what we want to tell you is that we have the possibility of seeing or hiding the icons in this section based on our needs or preferences. For example, the most comfortable and easiest method when it comes to showing the hidden icons in the system tray in Windows 11 is by dragging them. We just have to click on the up arrow that shows us the hidden icons at that moment, and we can drag those that are visible in this section once and for all.
But we can also carry out this customization process through the useful Windows Settings application. Once it appears on the screen, all we have to do is go to the Personalization / Taskbar section.
It is worth mentioning that here we find a list that shows all the icons that can be seen at that moment in the system tray. In this way and thanks to the selectors that are located next to each entry, we can activate or deactivate the display of each of them individually.
Although many of you think that it is best to activate all of them, it is best to make a selection with the ones that we are going to use the most. Otherwise, we could take up more space at the bottom of the Windows interface than necessary.
