In the absence of F-150, in Europe we have the Ford Ranger as a representative of the pickups of the oval brand. It is a versatile and very capable vehicle, which also has a really fun sports version: these are 10 curiosities of the Ford Ranger Raptor.
1. The origins of the name Raptor go back to the 2008 SEMA Show, where Ford presented a legal ‘Trophy Truck’ to drive on the street, which began to be sold a year later, already under the name ‘Ford F-150 SVT Raptor’ , the first car to use the name.
2. The first Ranger Raptor was introduced in 2018, but didn’t arrive in Europe until 2019. It was powered by a twin-turbo version of Ford’s 2.0-liter EcoBlue diesel engine with 213PS and 500Nm, mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
3. The pick up has just released its second generation and, upon its arrival in Europe, the first variant that is available is the Ranger Raptor: since the last quarter of 2022.
4. The world’s first adapted Ranger Raptor, for Paralympic medalist and Ford Adapta program ambassador Gema Hassen-Bey, was created in Spain.
5. The ‘Very Gay Raptor’ was in charge of presenting the model’s dynamic debut in Europe, on a stage like Goodwood, with the aim of giving visibility to the LGBTQ+ community and showing support for diversity.
6. The first-generation Ranger Raptor used a “breadcrumb” navigation system: every second it places a digital pin on the route, so drivers can easily retrace the road and get home.

8. He has also participated in music videos, such as the video clip ‘Dosis’ by the DVICIO group, and sports videos, as a co-star with Aymar Navarro, professional freerider and Ford ambassador, in the Aran Valley.
