In what was an open secret that had not yet materialized, it was finally made official that Tuenti Móvil will close its doors this summer. Current Tuenti customers will automatically migrate to other similar rates within the Telefónica ecosystem.

For example, all prepaid subscribers will migrate to Movistar and, for their part, contract customers will automatically migrate to O2 rates, which offer better conditions. If you are (were) a Tuenti customer and now you find yourself a bit lost, these are some of the tariffs in which you could feel like you have until now.

If you had a prepaid mobile rate

The option currently offered by Tuenti for prepaid customers was a mobile rate of 5 GB maximum + unlimited calls for a recharge of 5.95 euros for a month. Here the transition is clear towards Movistar. The operator offers a prepaid rate at a price of 10 euros and the price increase will be reflected in better conditions that are worth those 4.05 euros more per recharge.

Movistar’s Prepaid Plus rate now offers 30 GB of data at maximum speed (previously it was 10 GB), unlimited calls to national landlines and mobiles and includes 200 minutes of international calls. In addition, it includes roaming, so you can browse and call with the same conditions of your national rate in countries of the European Union, the United Kingdom, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.

If you use your mobile very occasionally and only for calls, because you don’t need mobile data or you use data from another line, you can always switch to the Habla 6 Rate, in which you pay for what you talk. Their prices for calls to landlines and mobiles are 6 cents per minute, with 30 cents for call establishment.

If you had a contract on Tuenti

In the contract slot, Tuenti had a little more variety. Specifically three different rates with different configurations of calls and gigabytes. For 5.95 euros per month, you had 3 GB of mobile data at maximum speed and calls at 0 cents per minute with call establishment of 20 cents (if the call lasted more than 30 minutes from min 31 you pay 6 cents/minute ) and SMS at 9.68 cents per message.

Within the rates with unlimited calls we had two options: with 6 GB of mobile data at maximum speed for 9.95 euros per month or 14 GB of mobile data at maximum speed for 13.95 euros per month.

In the case of any of these being your rate, in the transition to O2 you will win, since a few days ago they improved their rates by increasing the number of gigabytes for the same price. Currently, Movistar’s second operator has two contract options.

For a price of 10 euros per month you will have better conditions than even the most expensive Tuenti rate. The O2 Mobile Line 20GB Unlimited Calls rate includes unlimited calls to national landlines and mobiles, activated European roaming, unlimited SMS and unlimited browsing, since once the 20 GB bonus is used up you can still browse at a speed of 64 Kbps free of charge until the bonus is reloaded in the next billing cycle.

If you feel more generous and want to pay more after the transition, for 20 euros per month you will have identical conditions in the Mobile Line rate 30GB Unlimited Calls, but 30 GB of data at maximum speed each month. In all cases, there is no permanence, as was the case in Tuenti.
