Currently produced for the Asian market, the arrival of the CFMoto 1250 TR-G in Europe is banned as it does not comply with Euro5.
However, it is known that it has raised great expectations on the European continent, and not only because of its great resemblance to the BMW R 1250 RT.
The engine it equips is the twin-cylinder V75º LC8 of KTM origin. CFMoto belongs to the Chinese group Zhejiang Chunfeng Power Co., Ltd, which assembles the KTM Duke 125, 200 and 390. As a result of this collaboration, CFMoto acquired the 1,198 cc version of the KTM LC8 (previous to the current 1,301 cc of the 1290 Super Duke and Adventure), modifying it up to 1,279 cc The new engine produces 140 hp and a maximum torque of 12.5 kgm.
It uses a double-spar steel chassis and fully adjustable Marzocchi suspension. As for the brakes, they are 320 mm Brembo with radial-mount calipers and cornering ABS.
Present at the Lyon Show
It also stands out for its high level of equipment: in terms of electronics, it has four adjustable driving modes, traction control (also adjustable), cruise control, and output control, in addition to the aforementioned ABS when cornering.
All this is visible on the huge 12.3” TFT screen -configurable-, which has a browser, connectivity with a smartphone, tire pressure control, etc. The key is remote or smartkey and the lighting is Full LED.
This bike was present at the last Lyon Motor Show, which was held between the 3rd and 6th of this month.
As we have said, the bike is not planned to be sold in Europe, but the French importer brought a unit to its stand to capture the impressions of the public.
Apparently, it caused a lot of expectation and many people asked about it. One of the most criticized points in the networks, the final transmission by chain and not by gimbal, it seems that it was not a problem for the Lyon visitors.
Knowing is the great interest generated by the trail 800 MT (with a KTM 790 engine and that will come to the Old Continent), there was interest in knowing if it would be worth it for CFMoto to invest in making a Euro5 version of the 1250 TR-G for Europe.
Sold at a competitive price (around €15,000-16,000. The BMW R 1250 RT exceeds €21,000), the powerful CFMoto 1250 TR-G could have an important market niche. Its price in China is much lower than that of the BMW.
Will we see the CFMoto 1250 TR-G in Europe, then? To this day we do not know, but having seen what we have seen, we do not rule it out either…
