The messages remain in the same direction: there will only be a discount for some sectors
There is just over a week left until the fuel discount comes to an end and we still do not have an official announcement that will clear up all doubts about what will happen next year. Meanwhile, the messages from members of the Government are added who maintain that the discount of 20 cents on fuel will be withdrawn in 2023; at least universally.
The last to be asked in this regard was the Secretary for the Economy and Business Support, Gonzalo García Andrés, who has maintained the message of other members of the Executive, making it clear that there is no official decision but that everything points to that there will only be a subsidy for diesel and gasoline “for the most affected sectors.”

García Andrés has affirmed that the bonus in the price of diesel and gasoline must now be adapted and withdrawn in general terms; and that, in any case, should be maintained for the most affected sectors.
The Secretary of Economy and Business Support has not detailed what those “most affected sectors” would be, but recovering messages from other members of the Government we would be talking about professional drivers and, possibly, low-income families.
García Paredes’ message concludes that the reduction of 20 cents per liter of fuel was a very effective measure in March, when the economy was marked by strong inflation; but it seems that the Government does not consider that this rise in prices will continue in the coming months given that the price of oil is moderating.
“It is time to gradually adapt this measure”, said the Secretary.
