The town council denies having contracted the services of this radar
The latest controversy on Twitter takes us to Cazalegas, a small town in Toledo where they say a private radar works that takes pictures of drivers who exceed the speed limit.
The news has gone viral after the dissemination of a video that shows how a private driver gets into the skin of the Traffic agents of the Civil Guard
The private radar of Cazalegas
In the images, recorded on the N-Va highway, in the vicinity of Cazalegas (Toledo), a driver approaches a vehicle parked on the shoulder.
The car in question is parked behind a billboard and has a mobile radar installed on the dashboard with which, in theory, it controls the speed of all the vehicles that are currently driving on the road.

The person recording the video asks him what he is doing and the occupant of the vehicle answers by assuring that he is responsible for a “speed control”.
“But you are not a policeman,” continues the author of the video, who also questions the legality of this man taking images of third parties. The response from the owner of the radar is that he is only taking pictures of the license plates of the vehicles and that he works for the local council.
The Cazalegas City Council denies any connection
The video of the alleged private radar of Cazalegas has had such an impact that it has forced the town council of the Toledo town to give an answer.
In an official statement, they flatly deny that this private driver works or has any contractual relationship with the Cazalegas City Council. They also assure that they are investigating whether “it is a person linked to a company that provides a municipal service or concession.”
The mayor of Cazalegas, Francisco Blanco, confirms that they are “carrying out the pertinent inquiries to confirm the identity of the person who appears captured in the video, being able to corroborate from this moment that it is not a person who provides services for the City Council in labor or civil servant regime”.
