On the occasion of its 60th anniversary, Lamborghini will organize a series of events around the world throughout the year, together with the participation of its customers.

“Dear engineer, I will not buy your wonderful cars anymore. From now on I make sports shoes myself, so I’m sure they go the way I like them”. These words were the seed from which, six months later, sprouted one of the most desired automobile manufacturers in history. It was 60 years ago and his name is Lamborghini.

As everyone knows, those words were spoken by Ferruccio Lamborghini in front of Enzo Ferrari, during a visit to Maranello to express the problems he had with the transmission of his Ferrari 250 GT. Ferrari replied that there was no problem with the transmission, but rather that it was capable of driving tractors, but not a Ferrari.

Six months later, on May 6, 1963, construction began on the Automobili Lamborghini factory in Sant’Agata Bologne, a town very close to Maranello.

In this way, a businessman who, after the Second World War, had dedicated himself to the construction of tractors and agricultural machinery (among other things), made his dream of becoming a manufacturer of sports cars come true, a sector that was then dominated by some few marks.

Over the years, Lamborghini has continued to evolve, creating icons of style, technology and unique performance, inspiring entire generations and millions of people who share its DNA and the values on which it was founded, now 60 years ago.
