Abarth opens a chapter in its history with the launch of the first electric model. Be careful, because it is the most efficient, but also the most powerful and sporty
If Carlo Abarth raised his head, he would be very proud to see what his legacy has become. In 2023, the Scorpion reinvents itself and stings with more force than ever thanks to the arrival of the Abarth 500e, one hundred percent electric but without losing an iota of its sporting DNA.
In a coupe version (there is also a cabriolet), the electric Abarth measures 3.63 meters long, 1.68 meters wide and just over a meter and a half high.
Although its design is (a lot) reminiscent of the Fiat 500, it has details that make it exclusive, especially inside, such as the Alcantara-upholstered steering wheel, steel pedals and sports seats.
Sportier than gasoline
In electric version, the Abarth 500e will coexist in time and space with the combustion Abarth 595 and Abarth 695. Against all odds it will be sportier than the previous ones: it surpasses them in power (154 CV) and in acceleration (it goes from 0 to 100 km/h in just seven seconds). The maximum speed is limited to 155 km/h.
The Abarth 500e certifies a range of 250 km thanks to the 42 kWh battery which, in the urban cycle, promises to increase the range up to 320 km.
The range varies depending on the selected driving mode. There are three: Turismo, Scorpion Track and Scorpion Street. It also has a One Pedal to increase the regeneration capacity in braking and deceleration.
For recharging, it offers a fast option of 85 kW in Direct Current (CC) that allows it to go from 0 to 80% in 35 minutes.
Abarth 500e Scorpionissima
The new electric Abarth arrives on the market in the form of a limited edition that is recognizable by name and aesthetics.
Of the Abarth 500e Scorpionissima, 1,949 units are put up for sale around the world (due to the year the company was founded), of which only 53 will reach the Spanish market in two colors; lime green (pictured) and blue. It can be chosen in a convertible version (cabrio) or with a closed body (hatchback).
This limited edition is also the most equipped. To make the purchase easier, Abarth does not allow you to expand the standard equipment of the 500e Scorpionissimo, although it does not need it either. It includes a 360-degree camera, an infotainment system with a 10.25-inch TFT screen, automatic climate control…
The Abarth sound generator deserves a special mention, which allows the driver to make the 500e as silent as an electric car or to sound like a petrol head he expects.
It remains to talk about prices. The limited edition goes on sale from 43,000 euros to which the 7,000 euros discount of the Moves III Plan can be discounted. The rest of the editions will be about 2,000 euros cheaper.
