This is how Apple will try to steal Android users once and for all

Apple has spent years and years trying to impose itself on the Android environment in the mobile phone market. It is true that they are famous and that their name has a legion of followers who defend it tooth and nail, but if we talk about the market, Google is still a tough nut to crack. However, now Apple could have a secret plan for its iPhone to take the lead.

The launch of the iPhone 15 will be something that will change the history of the apple mobile. After a long time taking refuge in its stubbornness, Apple has been forced to abandon the use of its beloved Lightning cable. And, in its place, it will introduce the presence of the standardized USB-C charging port. Even if they don’t like the idea, in the end it may become their secret weapon.

Users are clear

A recently conducted study has interviewed 1,000 iPhone users and 1,000 Android users and asked them a series of common questions. The intention was to check what the situation in the market will be when Apple puts its new mobile model on sale. Will the public react like in recent years, in a more temperate way than usual compared to the past? Or perhaps there is a more enthusiastic response to the new iPhone?

44% of respondents on the Android side responded that they would buy the iPhone 15 due to the addition of the USB-C charging port. Not all of them intend to do so at launch or in the short term, but 34% do acknowledge that they will do so. The rest, a large percentage, are satisfied with what their current Android mobile offers them and are not even considering purchasing a new terminal. Let’s not forget that this is one of the main trends that have been occurring in recent years, in which the public tends to spend more and more time with their device without updating it.

Apple could achieve its goal

Although these are not extreme statistics, something that would not be credible, the fact that there are percentages greater than 30% of people who have decided to buy an iPhone and abandon their Android mobile phone is significant data. At Apple they have been seeing for many years how the mobile market is suffering and how their sales figures are adjusting to the current reality. But even if all manufacturers notice the pressure of changing trends, the apple company wants to take advantage of the moment to steal users from Android so that their data is not so negative.

And what do the iPhone users you have surveyed say? It is not a surprise to find that 66% of Apple mobile owners say they would change to the new 15 series model without any additions. They would do it no matter what, without caring if the charging port changed or even without giving relevance to the news or new features.

We say that it is not a surprise, because we know perfectly well that a part of the iPhone user community is closely linked to the brand. This is happening more and more not only in the West, but in Asia, in countries like South Korea or Japan, this obsession with the apple is also developing. In Korea it is a big problem for Samsung and the dominance of Android, while in Japan for years now, having an iPhone has become a class issue.

In addition, 63% of iPhone users surveyed say that the change to the USB-C cable is very important and, of this number, a percentage also recognizes that having a charging cable that combines all their devices is a relevant aspect. In the coming months we will see how the public reacts to the release of the different iPhone 15 models with USB-C cable. The brand is freeing itself from one of the problems that has weighed most on its growth in recent years and, although they may not exactly like it, it could help boost sales of their device. It would be curious if in the end they manage to deal a blow to their greatest rival thanks to something that has been imposed on them and that they have not decided for themselves. What would Steve Jobs think of all this?
