The streaming platform owned by Warner Bros. Discovery is preparing for a 2024 full of changes. After debuting last year in the United States to add Discovery+ content to the current HBO Max, the new platform that merges both services will arrive in Europe starting in spring 2024.

At the software level, depending on the device or operating system, the HBO Max app will automatically update to the MAX app. In all other cases, when users open their old HBO Max app, they will be prompted to download the new app.
The MAX catalog will incorporate what we already have on HBO and much more content from WBD’s suite of networks and studios, including HBO, Warner Bros, DC Universe, Discovery, Discovery Home & Health, ID, Discovery Kids, Cartoon Network and Adult Swim . The discount will be maintained for a limited time
One of the big promotions with which HBO Max was launched in Spain included a reduction in the monthly fee in half “forever.” This applied even when the price rose last year, as subscribers who benefited from that initial promotion continued paying 50% of the new fee.
However, many thought that “forever” could end when the platform ceased to exist giving way to its successor. In this sense, users who transfer their account to MAX will have a series of benefits.
In this regard, and taking again as an example what will happen in Latam starting February 27, its current HBO Max subscribers in the region, subscribed directly or through a partner, will have access to MAX. Existing subscribers will keep the features and price of their existing HBO Max plan for a limited time after Max launches, WBD reports. Those who subscribed to HBO Max with the 50% introductory offer will maintain the promotion as long as they comply with the terms and conditions of said promotion.
In this way, and waiting for confirmation of what will happen in Europe, we could continue to have the current price of HBO Max at the beginning, 9.99 euros/month if it does not increase until then, 4.99 euros for users with the discount initial, and subsequently apply that 50% to one of the three rates that the new MAX has: Basic with ads (two simultaneous transmissions, with integrated advertising), Standard (two simultaneous transmissions, without ads and up to 30 downloads to watch them without connection) and Premium (four simultaneous streams, up to 4K resolution, up to 100 downloads for offline viewing).
