Keep Windows 11 updated
One of the ways to prevent your data from being exposed is to keep Windows 11 updated to the latest version whenever required. To do this, all you have to do is go to the Start menu and type the word Settings in the search bar. You can also access it by right-clicking the Start menu icon.
Next, click on the tab where it says Windows Update and click Check for updates. If one is available, simply download and install it and restart your PC when prompted. Doing this process regularly will ensure that your information is safeguarded, as well as improving the system as a whole.
Enter passwords
Another way to protect your most sensitive data is to set a login password that only you know. To do this, return to the Start menu and enter Settings. Go to Accounts and then Sign in options. On the next page, under Sign-in methods, select the one you consider, such as fingerprint in some cases, facial recognition in others, or with a PIN, or expand the Password option and click Add to enter a password.
Make sure Windows Defender is active
Despite not being the most effective antivirus, Windows Defender is installed by default and perfectly adapted to the operating system, so if you do not have another malware defender, it never hurts to have the official Microsoft one constantly enabled.
In this way, to make sure of this you must enter Settings, Privacy and Security and Windows Security. Protection areas will have to be marked with a green tick. If not, click on Open Windows Security and activate all the boxes.
Use the Standard account
In the event that a family member or a friend wants to use your PC and you want at all costs to prevent your data from coming to light, the best thing you can do is add a Standard user account and every time a change has to be made The system will request the Administrator’s password, in order to limit access.
To do this, go to Settings, Accounts, and select Other users. Then click on Add account and on the blue text where it says I don’t have information about this person. Add a user without a Microsoft account and enter the name and password for the new account.
Block Bluetooth devices
When you add a Bluetooth device and stop using it, there is a way to lock it. In this context, go to Settings, Accounts and go to Sign-in options. Finally, scroll down to Dynamic Lock and enable the checkbox to allow Windows to automatically lock your device when you’re away.
