The YouTuber and virtual streamer Ironmouse, as content creators who publish videos with digital avatars are known, has broken a new record on Twitch, becoming the person with the most subscribers on the live platform, surpassing the stratospheric level she held. Kai Cenat until he achieved 314,146 subscribers to his channel.

With 1.16 million subscribers on YouTube, and more than two million followers on Twitch, the vtuber is positioned as the most popular worldwide in its category. For her live shows, she uses an anime-style female avatar with an automated mouth movement to give realism to the conversation in real time. Ironmouse, who usually dedicates his channel to video game gameplay, is also a singer, and in some of his live shows he also simulates entire environments such as his house or room virtually.

He achieved the record of 314,146 subscribers (which on Twitch are different from subscribers) on September 30, thus surpassing Kai Cenat’s previous record of 306,000 active subscribers. From the Amazon-owned company they congratulated the streamer, saying: “Congratulations to @ironmouse for reaching the all-time subscriber record and sharing the love and awareness with @IDFCommunity.”

She achieved it as part of a fundraising campaign carried out by the content creator to donate to charities. Ironmouse is known to suffer from a chronic disease called common variable immunodeficiency, and has used his platform on several occasions to raise funds and awareness for this medical issue. The streamer already won the award for best content creator at the Game Awards in 2023.

The Ironmouse channel on Twitch is labeled as not suitable for all audiences, since when entering its profile without being registered on the platform, a warning message appears saying: “The content of the Ironmouse channel is aimed at a specific audience . Could contain: Game for adults. “The content may not be appropriate for you,” the platform warns.

The creator was able to achieve this record, in part, thanks to a Twitch campaign whereby creators who donated money to charitable causes would receive paid subscriptions from the company itself. It is estimated that Ironmouse achieved more than 12,000 subscribers through this means.

Rise of vtubers

Vtubers have become very popular in recent years. Facial recognition and software allows anyone to simulate a virtual avatar that moves similarly to the real person. Some streamers use them to hide their true face and thus protect their identity and privacy. On the other hand, some may use them with the aim of attracting an audience.

On YouTube, there are videos about the nature of vtubers, and tutorials so that others can create similar avatars. Other famous vtubers are Gawr Gura, Watson Amelia, or those from the NIJISANJI company, to name a few.
