Matter Energy, a Start-up of Indian origin, has just presented a liquid-cooled electric motorcycle in style, with its radiator like that of any conventional combustion motorcycle. But beyond this, and another important patent that we will see later, it also calls our attention because its Matter Drive 1.0 engine is a new electric proposal with gears. Electrical innovations do not stop emerging.
And it is that the motorcycle of the Indian start-up from Ahmedabad, which is ready to be launched on the local market, has two new patented technologies. For one, the Matter Drive 1.0 radial-flow propeller itself; and on the other, a completely new converter.
The new Matter Drive 1.0 radial flux electric motor is the jewel in the crown. And it is that, thanks to the reduced weight and the brand new liquid cooling system, it promises to have exceptional performance. Both in terms of maximum power, as well as efficiency and safety.
As for the converter, the Indian engineers in charge of its development affirm that, thanks to it, it is possible to charge the vehicle from a single-phase or three-phase alternating current source… Without the need for additional accessories.
This new Indian motorcycle is also characterized by incorporating a four-speed gearbox.
In principle, the Matter Drive 1.0 of the new electric proposal with gears from the Indian start-up develops 10.5 kW, and can travel approximately 150 kilometers in an urban environment. Regarding the recharging times, at the moment we have no information.
If we know what it will cost in India from January 2023, when it begins to be commercialized. It will be 175,000 rupees, that is, about €2,000. A most competitive price.
