Harsh exchange of statements between the two Spanish pilots after an accident at the Circuito de Jerez.

The pilots Ana Carrasco and Álvaro Bautista have been involved in an unfortunate brawl on social networks after an incident during the tests that took place this week at the Circuito de Jerez and where the two shared the track.

It all started with the fall of Bautista during the first day of testing, on Wednesday. The man from Talavera, who was proclaimed Superbike World Champion in 2022, has debuted his new Ducati Panigale V4R in Jerez. And, although the sensations were very good, the start of the tests was not entirely positive due to a crash in the first corner of the circuit.

The most surprising thing about this story is that Bautista pointed to Carrasco as the culprit in his accident, as he explained in statements collected by the Speedweek website.

“I had Ana Carrasco about half a straight ahead of me, and under braking I got too close to her,” Bautista explained. “I had to put the bike straight, I went into the dirty part of the corner and lost the front wheel.” Up to here, the champion’s statements may make sense, but then they take another, not very pleasant direction.

”Nothing happened, but Ana should ride with the amateur drivers. She is too slow to do it with Superbike and Supersport riders. It’s not very safe,” she noted.

Ana Carrasco’s response

The world champion in the Supersport 300 category in 2018 and current Moto 3 rider, did not hesitate to respond to Álvaro Bautista when she came across his statements on the internet. That’s how forceful the Murcian was:

“Are you saying amateur because I’m a woman? World champion, I saw your board at the finish line, and I knew you were coming, ”she explains on her Twitter account. “Between T1 and T2 (Curve 1 and Curve 2), I got inside, I turned to see when you were passing and I saw you falling… so don’t count milongas,” she added with her corresponding mention of Bautista.

To be fair, we must remember that the bikes with which Bautista and Carrasco participated in the Jerez tests were very different, since Álvaro rode with the Superbike and Ana with a Supersport. This explains why Bautista took 10 seconds from Carrasco, but be careful, because he took nine from David Muñoz, his teammate, who was also riding a Supersport Yamaha R6.

Carrasco and Muñoz, in fact, were in this test with the aim of returning to the track after the winter and preparing for the Moto3 test in March. Both will once again form part of BOÉ Motorsport in the bronze category of the Motorcycle World Championship.
