In 2021, the young Chinese brand announced the launch by 2023 of a sports car called VTR300 V-Twin Turbo. Motorcycle of which we gave you complete information in solomoto.es. Benda has not spoken about it and on a certain motorcycle, he misses us. And it is that at that time he also predicted the arrival of two models in 2022: the four-cylinder naked LFS700 and the V-Twin VTC-300 two-cylinder cruiser. Motorcycles that did break into the market in a timely manner according to their declaration of intent.

In January 2022, the patent records came to light, from whose images some information regarding the design could be extracted, but not all. The engine is a 298 cc 60º V-twin like the ones it already has… But with the exception that it could equip a small turbocharger in the exhaust located in the lower part of the fairing in front of the engine. Something Honda tried 40 years ago with the Honda VT250F and was ultimately scrapped.

Well, after a new patent filing, we think that nothing is a turbocharger, and that it is a mechanically actuated supercharging system, a volumetric compressor, wow. Perhaps Benda’s initial name, using the word turbo, simply referred to a supercharging system; perhaps initially the idea was to mount a turbo and then it was a compressor… Be that as it may, thanks to it the usual maximum power of around 30 CV would reach 50 CV.

Benda’s supercharging system would not be driven from the crankshaft as usual, but is mounted on one of the single-shaft cylinder heads and receives the impulse from the camshaft.

Regarding its design, it seems to be of the centrifugal type, like the one on the Kawasaki H2. Its compressor section is similar to that of a turbo, but is adapted to the engine instead of using an exhaust-driven turbine. This design performs better at high engine revs, and the “conventional” at low.

Benda’s proposed system compresses intake air, pushes it through an intercooler and a single throttle body, then redirects it to the intake through a Y-shaped duct reaching both cylinders. On the other hand, being mounted on the camshaft, which rotates at half the speed of the crankshaft, the patent suggests the installation of a variable transmission with a V-belt.

Since the initially established deadlines have not been met, it is possible that Benda has delayed the project, given the rise of the brand in Asia, which, let us remember, has developed the first motorcycle with a V4 engine in China.
