Have you received a WhatsApp offering you a relatively simple job? These types of cyber threats are the order of the day so that you accept a series of tasks that you must perform online in exchange for money. Suspicious, right? The modus operandi of this group of cybercriminals is very tempting and can deceive more than one, so we are going to tell you in detail what it consists of and what you should do to avoid and free yourself from their ties.

The scam of fictitious job offers is back and this time many users can fall into the trap at any time. In this case, scammers can find the perfect victim if she is in a delicate moment, trying by all means to find work, either because she is unemployed or because she wants a change of scenery.

But the truth is that you should be more careful than you should. The State security forces are already warning of one of the most dangerous scams that have emerged in recent days and that threatens to steal the money of those affected. So take note of the tips below to learn about the new scam of giving “likes” on social networks in exchange for money.

The “likes” scam for an amount of money

As the saying goes, and more than one of us should burn it into our heads, no one gives a penny for nothing. And making a living today is not easy at all. Starting from that premise, the Police are launching an awareness message to citizens through their official X (Twitter) account to warn of one of the most dangerous scams that are circulating through the WhatsApp messaging application.

This scam occurs when we receive the message from an anonymous account and it is presented with a random name. Next, he tries to cajole us by offering a job that is quite attractive at first glance, which consists of paying you a certain amount of money to increase a company’s visibility on YouTube. Your task is as simple as watching videos and giving “likes” to them. But first they tell you that you must take a test and send it to receive your first 5 euros.

Criminals will try to gain the trust of users through this type of reduced income, to let them know that they will be compensated with larger amounts once they complete the indicated tasks. But that is not the worst. Once they have you tied up, cybercriminals will act accordingly to ask you to transfer your own money to them to obtain greater income through commissions, assuming an investment. In reality, what they will do is empty your bank account.
