Taking advantage of the showcase offered by the Shanghai Auto Show, the Chinese brand BYD has presented a battery of novelties, up to a total of seven, adding its two luxury divisions, Yangwang and Denza.
All these novelties are intended for the local market. On the one hand, we have the staging of the BYD Song L, a 100% electric SUV that belongs to the Dynasty series. It has also unveiled the BYD Seagull and BYD Chaser 07 from the Ocean series.
For its part, Yangwang, the luxury brand belonging to BYD, has presented the U8 SUV and the U9 supercar, and has started the pre-sale in China of the two versions of the U8.
As for Denza, it has presented, for the first time, the N7 and the D9 Premier, a launch edition with four seats, in addition to other models.
BYD Song L, BYD Seagull and BYD Chaser 07 unveiled at Shanghai Motor Show
Starting with the BYD Song L, it belongs to the Dynasty series and is an electric SUV prototype with a very avant-garde and sporty approach, equipped with high technological equipment.
The BYD Seagull is equipped with the latest technologies from the Chinese manufacturer and has been developed for the global market. It shows off a unique aesthetic inspired by the marine world with an exterior appearance that exudes energy and dynamism. It is built on the e-Platform 3.0 platform and features the Blade Battery to increase passenger safety.
As for the BYD Chaser 07, it is the first saloon in the BYD Ocean series equipped with Super Hybrid plug-in hybrid technology. It has a large interior space and an elegant design inspired by the sea.
It is available with two electric versions, one with 121 kilometers of autonomy and the other with 200 kilometers, according to the NEDC cycle, becoming the only plug-in hybrid sedan in its segment to offer such a high range of autonomy.
Yangwang U8 Premium Edition and Off-road Edition
The Yangwang U8 is an electric luxury SUV equipped with two self-developed core technologies: e-Platform and DiSus-P, BYD’s intelligent hydraulic body control system that ensures excellent capabilities.
It has a maximum power of more than 1,100 hp and can reach 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. The Premium Edition version offers maximum off-road capability and stands out for its luxurious environment and intelligent systems, while the Off-Road Master Edition offers improvements to its off-road skills.
Finally, the Yangwang U9 reflects the Chinese firm’s Time Gate design language, expressing technology and speed and configuring a unique visual identity.
Denza N7 and the Denza D9 Premier
For its part, the Denza N7 is a luxury, sporty and connected SUV, equipped with the world’s first interactive intelligent cockpit, an audio system signed by the specialist Devialet and the DiSus-A system, a pneumatic system for intelligent control of the bodywork.
The Denza D9 Premier is a luxury four-seater minivan that combines an elegant exterior, a refined and well-kept cabin with a large space perfect for working, enjoying and relaxing, full of luxuries.
