You leave home or work and when you get into the car you doubt whether to take off your outerwear (or garments) because inside the passenger compartment it is not much hotter than on the street.

The first is because yes, driving with your coat on is a reason for a sanction by the DGT. And it is that although the General Traffic Regulations do not expressly contemplate fines for this concept, driving with warm clothing, especially if they are bulky, may go against article 18.1, which establishes that the driver must have “freedom of movement”.
Based on this, the fine for driving with your coat on can reach 200 euros (the same as if you drive with gloves).
There is another reason why traffic safety experts recommend doing without outerwear behind the wheel.
And it is possible that when you access the interior of the vehicle you feel cold and you do not feel like taking off your coat, but in a matter of minutes the temperature will rise and it has been shown that driving at more than 25 degrees causes drowsiness and reduces concentration.
