Car Scoops
The most anticipated sports
In recent years we have heard many rumors about the possibility of seeing a version with a manual transmission of the Japanese sports car. Finally, Toyota has confirmed it: there will be a manual Toyota GR Supra.
It was long-awaited news for many motor fans and has been shared by the brand itself through its social networks, with a series of images in which the three characteristic pedals of a car with a manual transmission can be seen.
And it was highly anticipated because the new Toyota GR Supra aspires to be one of the few pure sports cars that can be found on the market, a car with a front engine and rear-wheel drive, with 387 hp and, as confirmed by Toyota USA, also with transmission. Handbook.
Confirmed: there will be a manual Toyota GR Supra
In Australia, the Japanese brand said that the GR Supra will be offered “with a newly developed manual transmission, designed to offer a unique dynamic experience and meet the demands of driving purists.” And he added that “the manual transmission will improve the characteristic DNA of the Supra”.
Toyota Europe also alluded to the manual transmission in an announcement, stressing that it is “a highly desirable, pure and special feature”.

Since 2019 there has been talk of the possible inclusion of a manual transmission in the GR Supra and just a few weeks ago a report from Japan hinted at the official confirmation, also adding information about some improvements to the chassis and less presence of ADAS systems. However, Toyota has remained quiet on this matter, until now.
The GR Supra is based on the BMW Z4, but while the German sports car only offers an eight-speed automatic transmission, Toyota will opt for a bespoke manual variant, as well as one with an automatic transmission.
The manual Toyota GR Supra will be animated, in its Japanese version, by a 3.0-liter six-cylinder in-line engine of BMW origin, which produces 387 hp and 498 Nm of torque sent to the rear axle.
In the coming weeks, the Japanese company will offer more details about the manual version of the GR Supra. We will have to pay attention.
