It’s only been a few days and the problems with Digi calls seem to be repeating themselves. In the last hour, not only have we detected an increase in complaints and comments from users on social networks, but we have also been able to verify this in several additional ways. It is to be imagined that perhaps the problem will be resolved quickly, especially if it is the same problem as last week, but at the moment the situation is clear and there are problems with calls.
On September 9th, there was an incident that gave a lot to talk about. For many users, what happened a few days ago with Digi was a very serious problem. Calls to other operators did not work for hours. Even we, along with one of our editorial staff, encountered this problem. At first it seemed like nothing was happening, since calls from Digi to Digi worked fine, but then we were able to confirm it first hand: calling numbers from other operators caused constant problems. You might have imagined that the headache had passed, since everything was solved and normality returned to Digi’s daily routine, but now we are faced with the problem again. It is clear that it is not a good way to start Monday.
We confirm it again
The first thing we saw was that comments on X, the social network formerly known as Twitter, were starting to multiply. Users were leaving notes to Digi about what was happening, basically the same problem as last week. Of course, for many people it was a situation of pure disbelief, since it is difficult to imagine that the same thing that happened a few days ago would happen again. What could have gone wrong at Digi for this error to occur again?

After that, we turned to our own website, which is a good “snitch.” Our internal system was alerting us about how a large number of people were going to our news story about the call problems Digi suffered a week ago. Why would they be consulting that news story if it wasn’t because there was a problem with the calls? With that we were almost completely sure, so we just had to tell the member of the Digi editorial team to confirm that, once again, calls to numbers from other operators were not working.

If you need further verification of this, just take a look at Downdetector, the website we usually use when some kind of service goes down, to see that, without a doubt, Digi is experiencing the same thing again as it did a few days ago. The graph clearly shows how an incident that many users are suffering is being recorded and that, once again, will generate a large number of comments and messages from users. As you can see, the problems at Digi have only recently started and have been increasing progressively.
Given the precedents and the fact that it is possible that this is the same type of error that occurred a few days ago, as we indicated, it would be ideal if Digi could resolve the incident quickly. But it remains to be seen whether this happens in this way or whether the problem continues. After all, given the little information we have about what happened previously, we cannot know for sure whether it would be the same case. The only thing we can do, in this case, is cross our fingers and hope that it is resolved soon. Also, as we said last week, it would not be a bad idea to try whether changing the network to 2G/3G helps to solve this problem temporarily.
