Ford pays homage to the 1966 Bronco, the first generation of the American off-roader, with Heritage Edition and Heritage Limited editions. Both versions will be limited to 1,966 units and will be available across the entire Ford Bronco line-up from 2023.

Ford’s popular off-roader has been traversing the world’s most demanding terrain for more than half a century. Since the first generation appeared way back in 1966, it has become an icon of off-road driving.

Therefore, in honor of its roots, the oval brand has presented the 2023 editions of Ford Bronco and Ford Bronco Sport Heritage and Heritage Limited.

Special edition models will be available across the entire Ford Bronco family lineup, including Ford Bronco two- and four-doors and Ford Bronco Sport. Ford will build just 1,966 of each Heritage Limited Edition model to commemorate the year the Bronco originally debuted.

The 2023 Ford Bronco Sport Heritage and Heritage Limited models are available now in the United States, while two- and four-door versions will go on sale later this year.

Starting with the Bronco two- and four-door, the Heritage Edition includes a two-tone finish with exclusive Oxford White accents, including the modular hardtop, a unique grille with red ‘FORD’ script, 17-inch Dog Dish aluminum wheels painted in Oxford white and a side stripe that gives it a retro touch.

Inside, it features cloth-trimmed seats with Scottish tartan patterns and exclusive touches like an instrument panel, center console badges and exclusive front and rear floor coverings.

As for the engine, it mounts a 300 hp 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder block, linked to a seven-speed manual transmission or a ten-speed SelectShift automatic transmission. Instead, the Heritage Limited finish uses the 2.7-liter V6 EcoBoost and 330 hp with automatic transmission.

On the front, ‘FORD’ lettering appears in metal and features checkered leather or imitation leather-trimmed seats with white and red accent stitching.

The Ford Bronco Heritage will be available in five colors, while the Bronco Heritage Limited will be offered exclusively in Legend Blue, a throwback color based on the original 1966 model’s iconic Arcadian Blue. Iconic Yellow, based on the 1971 Prairie Yellow , it is planned to be available at the end of the year 2023.

Although the Bronco Sport was not part of the original 1966 family, it also adds to this homage to the past. All models feature exclusive Oxford White accents, including a roof. On the front, it sports the grill with the inscription ‘BRONCO’ in red and on the sides we see 17-inch wheels and retro-style stripes.

Both the Bronco Sport Heritage and Bronco Sport Heritage Limited feature Magma Red and Legend Blue tartan cloth upholstery and an instrument panel in a combination of Avalanche Blue and Oxford White.

As for the engine, the Heritage Edition variant is based on the Big Bend series, with the 181PS 1.5-litre EcoBoost engine, while the Heritage Limited uses the 250PS 2.0-litre EcoBoost engine.
