Just a few months ago, the Italian brand presented its renewed 400 and 530 cc versions, of which we informed you at www.solomoto.es in a timely manner. Well, now we have had access to a patent application that could lead to the future Piaggio MP3.

Thanks to some important changes in its bodywork, the new design could improve behavior and benefits. In addition to assuming a significant evolution in terms of its appearance.

The chassis and suspension system is basically the same for 15 years, with the corresponding improvements appearing in each version. But, if we look closely… The front part of the body remains vertical! Even when the bike leans when taking turns.

This relatively easy design change allows the nose to be set much lower. The aerodynamic improvement is brutal, by correcting the “parachute” effect that the air makes when impacting with the large passage of the double front wheel. It is only necessary to leave the channeling necessary to cool the radiator, as in any conventional motorcycle.

On the other hand, the optical group would be located parallel to the ground and closer, improving its efficiency.

The patent also shows a windshield, in the upper part, which would keep the driver safe from the cold and wind, as well as favoring aerodynamics.

Likewise, the presence of a considerable hole in the space located above the headlights is suggested, enough to house one or two helmets, thus complementing the load capacity provided under the seat.

The existence of the patent application for this future Piaggio MP3 does not imply that it will finally be carried out. But of course, and in view of the designs, the research around this simple but revolutionary idea seems to be advanced. We will remain attentive to possible news that arises regarding this prestigious vehicle. Remember, it can be driven with the B car license.
