Google is working on an AI that will allow you to chat with influencers and celebrities

Artificial Intelligence caught Google on the wrong foot and has had a hard time adapting to the possibilities it offers. When Microsoft introduced Bing Chat, the search giant did not have any alternative prepared that would allow specific answers to be obtained in text form and not simply links where the user must search for the information they need.

Fortunately, Google has taken advantage of this error that called into question its future as the most used search engine in the world and, in recent months, we have seen how it does not stop adding new functionalities to Gemini, its AI that is available in both Pixel range phones as in the future, in the web applications that are part of Google Docs, although much later than Microsoft, who integrated it at the end of last year in Office with Copilot.

But, in addition to finding a suitable use that satisfies the needs of users, the search giant is also testing other ways of implementing them that are much more banal and that, to pass the time, may be fine. According to The Information, Google is working on creating a personalized chatbot that allows users to talk to influencers and celebrities as if they were really people and not machines.

Chatbots of famous people

We have already seen this idea in the past through Meta and companies like Character.ai (created by a former Google engineer), an idea that has had very limited success with the public. Google’s idea is to use Artificial Intelligence, Gemini, to be responsible for creating personalized models so that they are as realistic as possible and give the feeling that you are really talking to that person.

According to the information to which this medium has had access, Google seems to still not be very clear about what type of characters it wants to emulate with Gemini. In the case of Meta, we can find chatbots that allow you to start a conversation with Paris Hilton, the rapper Snoop Dogg, the YouTuber Mr. Beast among others.

Chatbot of famous people

For its part, Character.ai allows you to chat with fictional characters, politicians, philosophers and the occasional celebrity like Elon Musk. As we can see, the solutions from both companies cover different needs and Google could follow the path of both to allow interaction with any known person and even allow users to train new models.

Just because Google is working on this new functionality does not mean that it will see the light of day. It is not the first time that Google works on a project that is canceled before reaching the market and this could be one of them, because it seems that the scope of this Meta product is very limited, especially in the case of the rapper’s chatbot. Snoop Dogg who, with almost 90 million followers on social networks, his Instagram chatbot barely exceeds 15,000 followers.

Google should stop wasting time with nonsense of this type and focus on integrating its Artificial Intelligence in the same way that Microsoft has done both in the operating system and in the Office applications as well as in other services such as Designer and others, which is what users who want to use AI on a daily basis to improve their workflows are really looking for.
