Carlos Sainz starts from second position and Fernando Alonso, from eighth… Is a comeback possible? Don’t miss it after 3:00 p.m.

The Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix will be the only one that can be seen live and direct for free on TV, thanks to the agreement reached by Movistar/DAZN and Telecinco for its free broadcast. That is why today, starting at 3:00 p.m., you will be able to enjoy the Spanish event, where Carlos Sainz starts from second position and Fernando Alonso from eighth.

Can the Spanish anthem play today at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya? Definitely, it is possible, since one of us, Sainz, will start right behind the ‘poleman’, the Dutchman Max Verstappen, who was intractable yesterday in the qualifying session. If Max’s pace in the race is so higher than the rest, it will be difficult to catch him, but not impossible.

To begin with, because in a Grand Prix with 66 laps, anything can happen. The degradation of the tire can make the difference, as well as the strategy and the ‘undercut’. The Ferrari team has introduced improvements, and the objective is to be rivals for victory… or, at least, to hold on to the podium.

From a little further back, Fernando Alonso will come back to win his sixth podium in seven races so far this season, but this time it will be more difficult, since overtaking at the Circuit is not an easy task and he starts from eighth position – yesterday he qualified ninth, but Gasly was penalized -. Will we see a start like 2011?

The ‘spicy’ can be put by those who come out of position, such as Sergio Pérez (11th), George Russell (12th) or Charles Leclerc (19th), who completed a terrible classification and will have the pace to climb a good number of positions.

If it rains, everything can change and make Red Bull more vulnerable, but we must say that the forecast has now dropped: it is only 20% at the start of the race… and it will decrease as the laps go by.

How and where to watch the Spanish GP F1 2023 for free

The Spanish Grand Prix will be the only one that will be broadcast open and free throughout the Spanish territory. Both the race and the qualifying session can be seen on Telecinco, where you can enjoy the test with the narration of the renowned journalist Gonzalo Serrano and the comments of Iván Vicario and the former F1 driver Jaime Alguersuari.

Likewise, the Spanish GP, like all the races on the F1 2023 calendar, can be seen live on DAZN. This is the only legal way through which you can follow the premier class races in our country for another year, although not the only one to watch F1.

To access DAZN’s sports offer (including, among other competitions, F1 and MotoGP), you have to hire one of the packages it offers, including the most basic one offered by motor competitions, such as “DAZN Essential”, which costs €18.99. The “DAZN Total” package, which also includes football, costs €29.99.

DAZN is also available on other digital televisions, such as Movistar TV or Orange TV, which offer it, and sometimes at promotional prices.
