The high mobility vehicle with ‘legs’ is closer to seeing the light.

We were very pleasantly surprised at the moment we learned of its existence. And it is that now we already know that it is not a science fiction character, although it may indeed seem so. The Hyundai Elevate robot could be closer to becoming a reality and even be used to save lives in emergency situations.

The South Korean car brand Hyundai continues to work on extreme mobility prototypes and, according to the Carscoop portal, has already announced its plans to invest around millions of euros to design and build these spectacular vehicles (which seem directly inspired by the legendary AT- ST from the ‘Star Wars’ saga) in Bozeman, Montana (USA).

In fact, the Montana State University Innovation Campus could be home to a new Hyundai New Horizons Study Research, Development and Laboratory Center. Thus, according to the same sources, the new facilities would focus on latest-generation vehicle architectures.

And of course, in the design and development of products, tests, manufacturing and assembly, on the one hand, and the studies and market evaluations that these new creations would be associated with, throughout an extensive complex from which it is expected that they could emerge many other products equal to or more striking than the Hundai Elevate robot ‘with legs’.

The NHS Bozeman team will reportedly initially focus on “refining the development, testing and deployment” of two maximum mobility vehicles (UMVs), including an “unmanned transforming intelligent ground excursion robot” similar to the one unveiled. in 2021 and is designed to carry a variety of payloads over extremely rough terrain.

The second UMV would be inspired by the 2019 Elevate concept: a larger vehicle, which is about the size of a large SUV but designed for two people, with “robotic legs that can tackle extreme situations and challenges and even save lives in disasters.” natural”, as detailed by its creators.
