The Local Police of Santiago de Compostela has identified the driver who published some images on social networks in which he boasted of exceeding 160 km/h in a section limited to 50 km/h. He now hopes to declare before the judge that he can convict him of a crime against road safety.
It was on March 7 when the Local Police of Santiago de Compostela received notice that a video posted on Instagram showed a driver traveling at more than 160 km/h on a 50-mile stretch.
The agents viewed the images in which, indeed, an Audi appeared that exceeded, by far, the permitted speed limit. The images had been recorded in the Hórreo tunnel, a section of the SC-20 where the maximum speed is limited to 50 km/h.
Identified the driver after posting the images on Instagram
Investigators from the area’s attestation team analyzed the images until they found the details that allowed them to identify the driver (in this link we tell you how the GIAT of the Civil Guard works to solve this type of case).
The agents identified the vehicle and its driver who was summoned to court. There, a statement was taken from him and he has been summoned for a speedy trial. He will have to retell his version before the judge who can accuse him of a crime against road safety.
