It is not the first time that one of the legendary Kodi add-ons has been closed, and all because of illegally offering content to users. Well, the last one to say goodbye to this well-known multimedia center is Luar. Although, there is a problem looming, and that is that it may not be the only plugin to close its doors to the public.

Among the many applications that can be installed on a PC or Smart TV, there is no doubt that Kodi continues to be one of the most recommended options, especially due to the large number of add-ons that are available. However, the problem with these is that many users use certain add-ons to gain access to content fraudulently. Hence, several addons have closed permanently and are about to do so.

After Cristal Azul, Luar closes

First, Cristal Azul, one of those add-ons that many used to access unauthorized content, had to be said goodbye forever. And, just one day later, it is Luar’s turn. Furthermore, it seems that they will not be the only add-ons to close their doors forever, since there are others that may have their hours numbered on Kodi.

This series of complements to the well-known application have always been under the watchful eye of the ACE, that is, the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment. Basically, because content could be seen irregularly, and it was something that everyone knew. However, in recent weeks, it seems that copyright violations have become more serious than ever. One of the clearest examples occurred recently in Telegram with the changes in its policies. And all with the aim of fighting against illegal access to content.

On their Telegram channel, those who were in charge of Cristal Azul left this message: «The addon is closed immediately and forever, because things have gotten very ugly, until forever«. And shortly after, Luar also said goodbye, since in its official github you can find “Error 404 not found”. So it has closed, although it is not known if for good, since you can read this message in its repository: “See you soon.”

The next addons to drop

It seems that the battle against content rights violations is greatly affecting the add-ons that can be downloaded for Kodi. After Cristal Azul and Luar, there are other addons that are in the spotlight. In this case, it is Alfa and Palantir, for example. And the changes in Telegram’s privacy policy are going to change things a lot, all with the aim of stopping the disclosure of unauthorized content. In addition to these two addons, there is a third addon that could be released soon, and it is one of the greats, none other than Balandro. So we will have to keep an eye on what ultimately happens.
