It is possible that many of you have an account, or several, in the cloud storage service offered by Mega. In addition, this is a company that offers us other online services such as its own virtual private network or VPN.

Well, as is common today for this firm, it has just launched a new platform focused on security. Specifically, we are referring to its own password manager that will allow us to store our passwords securely. It is true that at the moment we have multiple password managers that we can use to store these very sensitive contents.

We have both free and paid proposals at our fingertips, which allow us to not have to remember all the secure passwords that we use daily. These are stored securely and encrypted in the corresponding manager and are normally protected through a master key. This is the new service that Mega Pass offers us from now on and to which we can subscribe from this link.

In addition, it is worth knowing that we currently have the possibility of trying the service for 14 days at no cost.

Pros and cons of Mega Pass compared to Bitwarden or LastPass

We have already told you before that we have at our fingertips multiple password managers similar to this new one that Mega offers us. Perhaps one of the best known is LastPass or Bitwarden. The truth is that the operation of all these proposals is very similar, but in most cases we will have to pay for their benefits.

There is no doubt that one of the great attractions that Mega Pass offers us right now compared to the two mentioned, LastPass and Bitwarden, is its price. And the monthly cost of this mega service is only 0.99 euros per month. LastPass costs 1.45 euros, and Bitwarden costs 4 dollars per month. It is also true that these other two proposals, being more veteran, offer us additional functions that we will not find in the new Mega, for example.

In addition, here we can also take advantage of family subscriptions for a greater number of users, at lower prices. For example, Bitwarden, like LastPass, offer us a more advanced modality especially suitable for companies, something that we do not have in the novelty that we have just presented to you.

In terms of functionality, the three password managers offer us two-factor authentication, automatic password generator and secure encryption of stored content.

Chrome’s password manager is a favorite for many

It is quite likely that most of you use it as a regular web browser, which is what Google offers us with its Chrome. Furthermore, by default it proposes a serious competitor for the rest of the password managers like those mentioned in these lines. In turn, here we are going to find an important advantage over its competitors in this regard.

And we have the possibility of using the password manager included in Chrome completely free of charge. It is true that functionally it is more limited than specific solutions for this type of task, but for most users it is more than enough to save their passwords safely in Google’s own browser, without any further frills.
