Toyota will launch, later this year, the 2023 versions of the Corolla, available in the three already known body variants: 5-door hatchback, 4-door sedan and Estate Touring Sports family. The main novelty is the engines, which will continue to be only hybrids, but with more power (140 and 196 hp). In addition, they will also arrive with a slight redesign and improvements in connectivity and security.
The new Corolla will maintain the two conventional hybrid engines of the current model, with displacements of 1.8 and 2.0 liters. The total power of the 1.8-liter engine is 140 hp, which represents a reduction of 1.7 seconds in acceleration time from 0-100 km/h, leaving the time at 9.2 seconds. Despite this performance increase, CO2 emissions are expected to remain at the same level. For the 2.0-litre engine, total power has increased to 196bhp and acceleration from 0-100km/h has been reduced by almost half a second to 7.5 seconds.
In the photos that Toyota has revealed, a redesign of the front can be seen, now characterized by the mesh pattern of the front grille, the new bezels of the fog lights and the new design of the alloy wheels. In addition, the most equipped versions in the hatchback and Touring Sports bodies will mount an adaptive lighting system.
And for color tastes, Corolla offers three new colors inspired by current trends in architecture, product design and fashion, namely Juniper Blue for the hatchback and Touring Sports, Midnight Tea Green for the sedan, and finally the Gray Metallic Grey.
In terms of safety and assistance features, the Corolla incorporates into its Toyota Safety Sense driving aids package a new blind spot control system and the reverse safe exit assistance system in addition to the reminder of the presence of objects in the back seat so you have less to worry about during the trip.
All the modifications mentioned above try to keep the Toyota Corolla updated for 2023 and continue to maintain the sales leadership position in its segment.
