Movistar Plus+ is already preparing for the arrival of the next major sporting competition on its platform. However, it is not all good news, as the pay-TV operator from the blue region is getting rid of an international news channel. In any case, its catalogue will soon be filled with a good number of sports channels focused on the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Movistar’s TV platform is known for continually updating its catalogue. This is why we can see the arrival of new temporary channels to its channel lineup. Although, for this occasion, it seems that one of its news channels is ceasing broadcasts forever on Movistar Plus+.

Movistar eliminates Fox News

Located on channel 130 of the current Movistar Plus+ lineup, the Fox News channel is ceasing its broadcasts on the Spanish operator’s pay-TV platform. From now on, subscribers will lose an international channel focused on news.

Fox News Channel

This exit of Fox News (owned by Fox Corporation) from the platform comes after it also stopped broadcasting through the satellite option of Movistar Plus+. So it is clear that the operator had already made a decision on what exactly to do with this American television channel in which its programming was dedicated to news.

Eurosport channels are already being tested

Most importantly, among the new features of Movistar’s pay-TV service is the fact that several Eurosport channels are already being tested so that their subscribers can enjoy the 2024 Olympics like never before.

First, Eurosport 3 and Eurosport 3 HD appeared on the blue operator’s test schedule. Weeks later, it was the turn of the other channels that will be responsible for broadcasting each of the sports that can be followed during the Olympic Games in Paris in full.

Eurosport channel 3

The Spanish operator’s TV is testing up to 7 channels, which will begin to be available to its subscribers from Wednesday, July 24 to Sunday, August 11: from Eurosport 3 to 9. Basically, because this last date is when the 2024 Olympics will end. So it makes sense that before the games are held, the platform starts broadcasting these different dials. Hence, a good part of these test channels will begin precisely on July 26, the date on which the Olympic Games will begin in France.

In just a few days, these temporary sports channels will become a reality, just as they have already been in the catalogue of other operators, such as Orange TV. And all because the French operator has already welcomed the different Eurosport channels to its current line-up. In any case, the Spanish operator would have this theme for each of these new channels: Eurosport 1 – for classic disciplines; Eurosport 2 – to follow Spanish athletes; Eurosport 3 – racket sports and golf; Eurosport 4 – artistic competitions; Eurosport 5 – football; Eurosport 6 – basketball; Eurosport 7 – contact sports; Eurosport 8 – handball and Eurosport 9 – volleyball.
