Of the design of the Peugeot 508 that goes on sale in 2023, it can be said that it is very fluid. Seen from the front, there are no cuts between the grille and the bumper that merge to create a single element that houses the lion emblem and the three-part light clusters (imitating the feline’s claws).
Peugeot 508, SW and Sport Engineered
It goes on sale in saloon version (508 to dry) and Sport Wagon (508 SW). The first measures 4.75 meters long; the second grows to 4,790 mm. In both cases, the wheelbase is 2.79 meters (1.86 meters wide with folded rearview mirrors).
In the Peugeot 508 saloon the boot capacity is 487 liters (1,537 liters with the rear seats folded down); in the Peugeot 508 SW, the cargo space increases to 530 liters (or 1,780 liters).
i-Connect Advanced, the evolution of the i-Cockpit
The new Peugeot 508 improves its technological equipment with the incorporation of the i-Connect Advanced system that is managed from the 10-inch high-definition central screen. It includes connected navigation, wireless connectivity, OTA (over-the-air) updates and accepts voice commands.
A second screen behind the steering wheel acts as a digital instrumentation panel. This is 12 inches and launches new display modes that are changed from the steering wheel.
In the security section, it also stands out for carrying the latest of the latest. To highlight, the semi-autonomous driving technology of level 2; HD cameras for the parking attendant; and the night vision system, which alerts the driver to the presence of animals, pedestrians or cyclists before they appear in the illuminated area.
Speaking of lights, those of the new Peugeot 508 range are Matrix LED at the front and LED at the rear.
With plug-in hybrid versions
In the mechanical section, the new 508 will go on sale in a 130 CV diesel version; 130 hp gasoline; and two plug-in hybrid options, 180 and 225 hp. These last two will not be the most powerful options; Above is the Peugeot 508 Sport, which in electric version (PHEV) reaches 360 CV with four-wheel drive.
The electrified versions, all with a 12.4 kWh battery, have a B mode that activates regenerative braking. This function contributes to increase the autonomy in electric mode. It also has six driving modes: electric, ECO, hybrid, normal, sporty and 4×4.
In the petrol version, the B button on the gear selector is replaced by ‘M’, which activates manual gear selection from the steering wheel paddles.
