Automobili Pininfarina has partnered with Autocar India to test the capabilities of the Pininfarina Battista at the Natrax test track in India.
Automobili Pininfarina is ready to show the world of motorsport that its electric hypercar is the fastest in the world, a distinction that is not useful for most mortals and in daily use, but that gives many points at the marketing level. Now, the Pininfarina Battista has just set a new speed record.
We have long counted the record set by the Italian electric car, registering acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.86 seconds, 0 to 120 km/h in 4.49 seconds and 0 to 200 km/h. in just 4.79 seconds. These data made it the fastest production vehicle in the world.
Now the Italian company has teamed up with Autocar India to test the capabilities of the Pininfarina Battista at the Natrax test track in India, where it has become the fastest production car to complete the quarter mile.
New speed record for the Pininfarina Battista
To certify the acceleration and maximum speed, they used official measuring equipment. With 1,900 PS and 2,340 Nm of torque, fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tyres, the Battista took just 8.55 seconds to complete the quarter mile (402 metres), at a speed of 270.5 km/h.
This record means that the Italian electric hypercar needed 0.03 seconds less than the Rimac Nevera, when it carried out the same test in 2021. It also dared to measure the time in the half mile, achieving a mark of 13.379 seconds at 316.95 km/h.
Flying at 358 km/h
Finally, the team also tested the top speed of the Pininfarina Battista on the race track. There, its 1,900 CV allowed it to reach a speed of 358.03 km/h, a figure that, although it is higher than what the vast majority of cars on the market can reach, is not as spectacular as its acceleration data. .
The data was ratified by the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) and was not by the Guinness Book of Records, so it will not appear in the famous publication. In any case, they are spectacular.
