The Japanese firm has just presented the new Nissan Qashqai e-Power Black Edition, a new special version with black details that adds to the range.

The new generation of the Nissan Qashqai gains even more exclusivity and prestige with a special version that has just been added to the range of finishes. This is the new Nissan Qashqai e-Power Black Edition, a model that sports a series of black details in its exterior design and the e-Power hybrid propulsion system under the hood.

Available in three exterior color combinations, Katana Grey, Lunar White and Midnight Black, the Qashqai e-Power Black Edition sports a number of gloss black accents on the roof and door mirror caps. Choosing the Midnight Black exterior paint turns the roof gray.

Regardless of the paint that bathes the body of the Nissan SUV, the Black Edition version, which has been designed by Nissan Design Europe in central London, comes standard with 18-inch wheels in black, as well as a trim that illuminates “Qashqai” when opening the front doors.

Under the hood, the only powertrain available in the Nissan Qashqai e-Power Black Edition is the e-Power non-plug-in hybrid powertrain. This system combines a three-cylinder gasoline engine with a 156 hp turbocharger and an electric one with 140 kW (190 hp) of power.

The difference with a conventional hybrid is that the Qashqai e-Power does not use the gasoline engine to drive the wheels. The Japanese SUV uses only the electric motor to move, while the internal combustion mechanics acts as an electrical generator that charges the 2.1 kWh battery pack.

The engine is linked to a single-speed automatic transmission that sends power only to the front end. With this, it can go from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 170 km/h. In addition, it does so with an approved average consumption of 5.3 l/100 km and with the DGT ECO environmental label.

The official prices and the date of commercialization of the new Nissan Qashqai e-Power Black Edition in the Spanish market have not yet been announced.
