ahead of the rest
That electrification is being imposed is a fact and all manufacturers are accelerating their plans to have more models with this propulsion in the range. However, some are ahead of others and Opel has been placed in the leading group. The lightning brand already has a copious electric range, where you can choose from a Corsa to an electric Movano.
They are the first steps to achieve the goal of being a 100/100 electric brand in 2028 and of course the Germans do not stop moving in that direction. Corsa, Astra, Mokka, Movano, Combo… they all already have an electrified variant, which is also marketed under the same price conditions as their combustion versions (in terms of financed monthly fee).
With an electric-only commercial range
In the commercial section, Opel made the risky decision to electrify its entire range and now both Combo and Vivaro and Movano are only offered in electric versions. And with the mind set on expanding its offer with a hydrogen version that will arrive in the next two years and will allow 400 km of autonomy in just three minutes of recharging.
In addition, the two most emblematic models of the German manufacturer already have an electrified version and they are the Corsa-e and Astra PHEV. The utility of Spanish origin (because the Corsa is manufactured in the plant that Stellantis has in Zaragoza) celebrates its 40th anniversary this year and its sixth generation fully enters the electric world.
This is how the Opel Corsa and Astra are electrified
The Opel Corsa-e moves with an electric heart of 136 hp and 260 Nm of torque, which allows it to go from 0 to 50 km/h in 2.8 seconds and from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.1 seconds. . Its autonomy is 286 kilometers and it has technologies as advanced as the matrix headlights. Enjoy driving modes from Eco to Sport, it allows you to recharge 80 percent of the battery in 30 minutes (with a supercharger, with a normal plug it would be 8 hours).
For its part, the Opel Astra PHEV is part of the range of a model with 86 years of history (if we add the 12 Kadett and Astra generations). It moves thanks to the joint effort of a 1.6T gasoline engine and an electric motor, which are associated with an eight-speed automatic transmission to deliver a power of 180 CV.
Its maximum autonomy in electric mode is 60 kilometers and thanks to this it has the DGT Zero Label. To recharge that battery, the time required (depending on the type of charger), ranges from two to eight hours.
