Orange TV customers lose up to 3 free sports channels, but get new channels in exchange

Orange TV customers will now have up to three fewer channels. The television operator from Orange TV has decided to stop broadcasting three sports channels that were part of its free TV offering. This adds to the various cancellations that have been taking place throughout this year. In total, there are almost ten fewer channels for its channel line-up this year.

Even though Orange TV has lost up to three free sports channels, the truth is that there are other new features on its platform. Basically, three more channels are being added to its schedule. So it may be a measure by the orange operator to counteract the loss of these channels with sports content.

Channels that are no longer available

Although Orange has made it official today, July 3, the truth is that for a few days now the operator’s television customers have noticed that they have completely disappeared from the current channel lineup. The affected dials are three sports options that could be seen completely free on its TV platform.

  • Powder TV – Dial 127: This channel was dedicated to the world of skiing and winter sports. It also had a space focused on other sports such as jumping and snowboarding.
  • World of Freesports – Dial 131: This channel was focused on broadcasting different extreme sports. Such as BMX, motocross or skateboard circuits and shows, extreme kayaking or freestyle kitesurfing. Basically, it was a channel designed for lovers of these sports. In addition, it also offered interviews with important names in each of these competitions, as well as events, reports, competitions and other content.
  • Motorsport TV – Dial 133: «dedicated to all types of motor racing such as touring cars, grand touring cars, single-seater cars, trucks, FIA karting, off-road, motocross, LeMans series, EuroNASCAR, GT Eurocup, DMT…«.

What are the new channels?

On the other hand, there have been other changes to the Orange TV catalogue. In this case, the operator has once again hidden part of the Eurosport channels. In total, up to 10 options were available, but now it has reduced this to 9: from channels 103 to 109, and Eurosport 4K has been added to channel 98. The following options dedicated to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games can therefore be found:

  • Eurosport 3.
  • Eurosport 4.
  • Eurosport 5.
  • Eurosport 6.
  • Eurosport 7.
  • Eurosport 8.
  • Eurosport 9.

Eurosport channels on Orange TV

In the case of Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2, these channels will remain on channels 100 and 101, respectively. However, these are not the only new features that are now being launched on Orange TV. Three new channels are also coming free to the French operator’s television platform, and they are the following:

  • Love the Planet, channel 72: “based on sustainability and climate change awareness. Content includes top-quality documentaries on environmental issues and docuseries.”
  • Love Wine, channel 73: “The first channel dedicated to wine. It includes documentaries and docuseries about wines, wineries, designations of origin, and the people who dedicate their lives to the sector.”
  • Historia y Vida, channel 74: «Spanish-language channel, produced by the eponymous magazine of the La Vanguardia group, with documentaries on history from ancient times to current conflicts.»
