We do not tire of saying it, electrification is a fact. And it is not something that we think, it is something that more and more car manufacturers officially confirm. The last to do so has been Peugeot, which has confirmed that from 2026 it will only launch electrified vehicles.
This has been confirmed in a press release, which makes perfect sense if we look at the ambitious objectives of the ‘Dare Forward 2030’ plan, which the Stellantis Group made public a few weeks ago.

According to this plan, it is expected to achieve zero net CO2 emissions in 2038 and an offer of exclusively electric vehicles in 2030 in Europe. In total, the Stellantis Group (which in Spain has these brands: Peugeot, Citroën, DS, Opel, Fiat, Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Jeep and Maserati) will launch more than 75 ‘zero emissions’ models by the end of the decade , of which more than 60 in European markets.
In the specific case of Peugeot, electrification is already a fact, given that it has more than 80% of its current range with electric or plug-in hybrid versions, so it is close to fulfilling that commitment to offer electrified alternatives in all its models. throughout the year 2025.
However, it is something that they did not want to leave up in the air. In the aforementioned statement, they stated that “thanks to its vanguard position in terms of electrification, Peugeot will be key in this strategy, with its conversion into a brand of electrified cars, having electrified from 2025 its entire range”.
In fact, electrification is not something new for the brand of the lion, because already in 1941 it became the first car company to market an electric vehicle with the Peugeot VLV, a two-seater mini-cabriolet with a range of 80 km, thought to ensure essential services, such as mail or medical assistance, in the context of fuel shortages due to World War II.
For the development of the VLV, studies carried out by the Brand’s engineers in the 1920s were used, using the Peugeot 201 as a base. But if you want to know more, discover what the electric car that Peugeot manufactured is like… 80 years ago!
After this first incursion, the Oil Crisis of the 70s and 80s led the French brand to recover its studies on electric mobility with series models such as the Peugeot 104 or the Peugeot 205.
These works culminated in the commercial launch of the electric Peugeot 106, between 1995 and 2001. Already in the 21st century, PEUGEOT once again became a benchmark with the arrival of the Peuegot iOn in 2009 and the Partner Electric in 2014. Find out how they have changed in 100 years Peugeot electric cars.
The current offer of models with Label Zero from the Peugeot DGT includes models from all types of segments. From commercial vehicles, with the e-Partner, e-Rifter, e-Expert, e-Traveller and e-Boxer to SUVs, with the e-2008 and 3008 Hybrid, without forgetting compact urban vehicles, such as the e-208 , the 308 Hybrid, the 508 and 508 SW Hybrid, as well as the 508 PSE and 508 SW PSE.
Looking ahead to the coming months, the marketing of the Peugeot e-308, developed on the EMP2 platform, is already planned.
