Prime Video does not want to stop investing in productions related to the world of video games and, to do so, they have announced a future release that is going to cause a sensation. It will arrive this year 2024 and will have the appeal and ability to capture the attention of a large number of gaming fans.

The event kicking off Gamescom 2024 took place a few hours ago, and there was not only news about new games. Spin-off projects were also announced, and in particular, a Prime Video series that will premiere on December 10, 2024. Its title is Secret Level and it will be presented as an anthology by the creators of Love, Death + Robots, one of Netflix’s biggest hits.

A groundbreaking concept

One of the incentives that Secret Level has is that, as an anthology, it won’t be limited to a single story. In fact, each episode will transport us into the universe of a different game. This has a unique capacity for surprise and also gives the series’ creators a very high level of flexibility when it comes to delighting viewers.

As the series’ head mentioned at his presentation at Gamescom 2024, they wanted to respond to the requests of all the players who have ever thought “this game would be great as a movie or series.” To do so, they have obtained the rights to some of the most legendary games in history.

15 Legendary Games

Prime Video has a presumed success on its hands thanks to the great licenses that the people behind Secret Level have had the opportunity to work with. There are 15 different games that we detail below and among which you are sure to find more than one title that you like. On the one hand, we have classics like Pac-Man, Spelunky, Unreal Tournament, Mega Man, Dungeons & Dragons, Warhammer 40,000 or the robot game Armored Core. Each of them will be represented, from what we have been able to see, in a totally unique way, so even in the Pac-Man episode we expect great surprises.

Other games that will have an episode include Crossfire, Concord, Exodus, Honor of Kings, New World: Aeternum, Sifu, and The Outer Worlds. In addition, one of the chapters will be dedicated to the PlayStation universe, which is why you’ve probably noticed that Kratos from God of War himself appears in the trailer. There are rumors that this episode could be inspired by PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, the legendary PlayStation 3 game that pitted many of Sony’s most famous characters against each other. That would explain why we see Kratos in an urban environment, where it logically doesn’t make much sense for him to appear.

Amazon MGM Studios is working on this series with a keen interest in making it a groundbreaking experience. Tim Miller is involved as creator and executive producer, while Dave Wilson also serves as executive producer. From the way Miller was seen at the Gamescom event, where he was very emotional and almost in tears, it’s clear that this series is being developed with an unprecedented level of effort.

We have no doubt that Secret Level could become one of the best premieres that Prime Video has before the end of this year 2024. It has the capacity to satisfy video game lovers, but its stories and its powerful visual section will possibly also attract the attention of the rest of the viewers.
